Assisted Therapy & Treatment

Psychedelic Assisted Therapy

PAT is a therapeutic approach that combines the use of psychedelic substances with structured psychological support to treat various mental health conditions, particularly trauma and treatment resistant depression. I am trained in the use of Psilocybin (found in magic mushrooms), MDMA, and Ketamine which are all administered in controlled, clinical settings under the supervision of trained professionals. It should be noted that MDMA is not yet FDA approved for clinical use and not a substance I offer for intervention at this time. Additionally, Psilocybin is classified as a Schedule-1 substance in the state on Maryland, and my approach to this medication is through a harm reduction lens.

The therapy typically involves three phases:

Preparation:
Over the course of 2-4 sessions, I meet with clients meet to set intentions, build trust, and prepare mentally and emotionally for the experience.

Psychedelic Session
The session is conducted in a safe environment with music and minimal distractions. Clients wear eye masks to minimize visual distraction and help you go inward to resolve internal struggles. Therapists are present to provide support, ensuring the experience is patient-centered, trauma informed, evidence based and holds safety as the top priority.

Integration
After the session, clients meet with therapists a minimum of 4 times to process their experiences and integrate insights into their daily lives. The first integration session takes place 24 hours following the journey experience.

Psychedelic Support Network

Whole Person Healing. For All.

As of the summer 2025 I will begin as a member of the Sunstone Therapies team as a consultant therapist conducting psychedelic research trials. With over 30 years of combined clinical expertise and over 5 years of specialized experience in psychedelic research, I cannot wait to begin to work with their team in establishing the gold standard for psychedelic clinics.

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)

Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is a therapeutic approach that integrates the use of ketamine with psychotherapy to treat mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, and chronic pain. In this method and working with medical personnel, ketamine is administered under medical supervision and by medical staff in clinic. The therapeutic sessions are structured to help patients explore the psychological and emotional insights that may arise during or after the experience. Sessions include Preparation in which I meet with clients to prepare mentally and emotionally for the experience. The actual medicine session is conducted while I stay present in the room to provide support, ensuring the experience is productive and emotionally safe. Lastly, Integration sessions are held to process their experiences and integrate insights into their daily lives. I combine a strong therapeutic component during integration using evidence-based techniques to help break through places people seem stuck where other traditional therapies have been ineffective.
